M:TG Deck Tech: Exponential Goblins

Banner-Patreon-800-x-100

I’ve been dipping my toes into the D&D/M:TG crossover, but now is time to just right into some full on Magic with my fist Deck Tech.

I’ve had a mono red goblin deck forever, named Goblin Assault!. I recently bought Duel Decks: Merfolk vs. Goblins to liven up some decks, and it helped evolve my Goblin Assault! into Exponential Goblins. As of this writing, you can click on the link and get this deck for under $25 at my newest sponsor, TCGPlayer. As a reminder, this deck is not a constructed deck with a carefully chosen card list. It’s built with cards from I already own, enhanced with selected cards from the duel deck, and commons I’ve dug out of the boxes at my Local Game Shop.

As with any goblin deck, you want to fill the board with a bunch of goblins, and rapidly, ruthlessly, viciously attack. Attack, attack, and when in doubt, attack again.

With plenty of cheap goblins and goblin token creation, you can easily overwhelm the board, or sacrifice 1/1 goblins to power other cards.

Krenko Mob Boss does the real heavy lifting in this deck. His ability is what inspired the deck’s name change. Goblin King and Goblin Chieftain make all those goblins dangerous.

As a fun bonus trick, Warren Instigator works well teamed up with either the Goblin Tunneler or the Subterranean Scout. The Instigator gets in unblocked, and with the double strike, lets you possibly putting two more goblins onto the battlefield. The Goblin Ringleaders can help keep your hand stocked with goblins.

Cleaver Riot and Relentless Assault are late game win conditions, as well as having a board full of goblins and using Brightstone Ritual with a Fireball.

As always, feel free to add your comments or some cards I should be on the lookout for.
