Things have been changing with the Blog Database. I’m in the process of reorganizing the various pages that I have. In fact, I’ve added a ton of new pages and subcategories. The menu at the top (under the banner) had gotten crowded, and I wanted everything easier to find. The Blog Database now falls under three main categories, aligning with the three core rule books. For Dungeon Masters, For Monsters, and For Players are your main categories, with plenty of sub categories.
For Dungeon Masters is arranged much in the same way as the Dungeon Master’s Guide is, in fact I use most of the same chapter titles. This is the largest reorganization, as I found a lot of my categories did not line up properly. I’ve also found the “Maps” category mostly breaks down into Adventure Environments.
For Monsters is my breakdown of the Monster Manual, of course. I’ve categorized things by monster type. So all your undead will be together, keeping them separate from all the fey. With new monsters, I’ve tried to include the CR of the monster as well.
For Players is organized much like the Player’s Handbook. I didn’t break it down chapter by chapter like I did with For Dungeon Masters. Some of the chapters overlap with the DMG, and I’ve chosen to put them there instead. Each race and class gets it’s own page. The official page for each is also linked to D&D Beyond, for ease of reference. New spells are in spell lists for each class that areincluded in the class pages. I’ve also broken down new spells by school as well.
Since I had been collecting links before doing this reorganization, this post will be under the old format as far as categories go.
While making new pages, there were a few occasions where I made a page that didn’t currently have any links in the Database. So I pulled an old link that I had saves in my bookmarks, so you’ll see some older articles linked in this update.

Kevin Victor Rae from Tribality has become a favorite of mine recently. He’s started a new series exploring the backgrounds from the PHB, and how they fit with each of the classes.

I haven’t run it in a 5e yet, since my groups have been new players, but in the past I’ve run games with extensive herbal systems before, and S. Baker and his World of Farland has an extensive list of herbs that can be used for minor effects.
